Saturday, October 15th, 2016 was United Way of the Brown County Area's 19th Annual Day of Caring. The Day of Caring is an annual event to make a positive difference through volunteering.  The Day of Caring is "One Day to Help One Another.  Teams provide services for people who for diverse reasons, cannot do.  Some non-professional service projects include: small painting projects, raking leaves, washing windows, cleaning gutters, moving boxes or furniture, yard work, housework and much more.

This year more than 200 volunteers on 22 teams spent part of their Saturday helping others in our county. 70 projects were completed throughout the county.  The day began with a pancake breakfast donated, prepared and served by the Farm City Hub Club and team pictures.  Then teams took their snacks provided by HyVee, People First of New Ulm and Kraft Heinz along with water donated by Arneson Distributing and headed out to complete their assigned projects.  Most teams were done by noon so they didn't have to give up their entire Saturday.

If you are in need of help or know someone please contact us or if you would like to participate by having a Day of Caring team contact the United Way office at 507-354-6512 for information.
