Due to the COVID 19 emergency, the United Way of the Brown County Area has waived the income restriction to sign your child up for Project Lunch box. If your child attends a New Ulm District school in PreK-8th grade and are facing food sensitivity in the home, they can receive meal packages picked up at their child’s school during the free lunch time on Thursday or Friday each week.

Project Lunchbox is a weekend food program for kids in K-4th grades in the New Ulm School District. Food will be packed and delivered to schools for kids who qualify for free or reduced lunches. The food packages will be placed in a child's backpack on Friday to be taken home. These food packages will include up to two meals and two snacks to get each child through the weekend. Why do we need this program? Hunger can have a huge impact on young children, causing anxiety, poor behavior and impairment to a child's ability to learn.
